German Gref struggles with artificial intelligence and extra employees

Due to numerous mistakes made by artificial intelligence, Sberbank lost billions of rubles. This statement was made by the head of this financial institution, German Gref, in a private Moscow school during the "Lesson in Figures."

The president of Sberbank sees the main reason for financial losses in the fact that artificial intelligence makes decisions in large systems. In these conditions, even a minor error of the algorithm can lead to serious financial losses. The slightest inaccuracy in the operation of computers can cause the loss of billions of rubles.

Bank specialists had to detect and eliminate these errors. Sberbank studied on them and improved the system so that such failures did not recur. True when reporters TASS they clarified in the press service of the financial organization what losses were involved, they were told that German Gref was talking about lost profits.

The head of Sberbank noted the importance of using artificial intelligence to solve routine tasks associated with large amounts of computing. Last year, he said that as a result of the introduction of “machine intelligence”, 70 percent of mid-level managers involved in solving simple problems were laid off.

I think rather the opposite. Gref digitalized everything, digitalized, and suddenly it dawned on a dumb computer that it was impossible to explain some benefit hidden from someone. Artificial "intelligence" is just an oh-oh-very good calculator, but nothing more - human cunning ... but he doesn't have it, so Sberbank is losing profits ... tongue

    here Sber and loses profits

Take turns. Billions for him are dust when there is a mortgage of 10% per annum (for comparison, mortgage lenders in Germany take ~ 1%)

Yes wink just like the British special services, in order to prove how everyone needs them and to justify the funds allocated for themselves.
But if you don't laugh too much, then this digitalization will come around again. If everything is transferred to it, as in the west, every system failure will come back to haunt. And the more complex this system is, the more failures, the more vulnerable. This is not to mention the fact that many people are driven into her simply by force. A person doesn’t want to pay him a receipt at the post office or at the bank's cash desk two or three times a month, even if it costs something. For that, "free" online operations sooner or later will also become paid as in Europe, besides, for a person they imply the presence of a computer, software, the Internet, and this is all paid, and in the end it costs several times more than a couple of manual receipts.

    this digitalization comes back

When a person believes in his own infallibility (= impunity), he loses caution, like "comrade" Gref, this is not his first mistake. You will remember for a moment that digitalization of the economy has been proclaimed as a national project and is presented as an exceptional benefit for the people. But in practice, under this brand, Gref fired 70% of middle managers, forcing them to "fit into the market" (c). And the fact that he speaks openly about this testifies to his true attitude towards you and me - not as a people (a source of power), but as a "population" that is incapable of thinking independently. I’ll throw you one more question in this regard - is robotization also digitalization? And where are the people - the robots are injected, is the person happy? (from)

The question of replacing people with cars is far from new. At first it was asked when the first machines appeared, then - after the appearance of the conveyor. And now, digitalization.
