Trump announced the end of the trade war with China

On February 24, 2019, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington had made significant progress in trade negotiations with Beijing. After which he announced a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at his villa in Florida to conclude a big trade deal. The owner of the White House wrote about this in his microblog on Twitter.

It should be noted that on March 1, 2019, US trade duties on Chinese goods were to enter into force. However, Trump decided to postpone (postpone) their introduction, citing serious achievements in important structural issues that related to intellectual property, transfer of technologies, agriculture, the provision of services and currency regulation.

Trump invited Xi Jinping to his residence-residence Mar-a-Lago (often referred to as the “Winter White House”) to make final progress there and conclude an agreement between the parties. He optimistically described this as a very good weekend for the United States and China.

It must be recalled that on February 20, 2019, Washington announced to Beijing the condition that the implementation of which should put an end to the trade war between the countries. The USA demanded that China stop the artificial undervaluation of the renminbi.

And even earlier, it became known that Trump and Xi Jinping could meet on February 27-28, 2019 in Vietnamese Da Nang and discuss issues of concern to the parties. Negotiations in Vietnam should help resolve (eliminate) a number of trade contradictions.

It should be added that the trade war between the United States and China began in January 2018, when Washington imposed various duties on Beijing. For more than a year, countries have been trying to negotiate and resolve differences. Perhaps we are witnessing the end of a difficult negotiation process.
