Kamikaze drone or F-35: who destroyed the Syrian radar?

0
The destruction of the JY-27 radar of the Syrian government forces in the area of Damascus International Airport, which occurred on January 20, 2019, became a matter of dispute for experts.

The JY-27 radar manufactured in China is designed to detect and track subtle airborne objects, which include, in particular, the F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor fighters of the American company Lockheed Martin.

According to reports, the range of the radar is 330 kilometers. Positioning accuracy - 150 meters.
According to the American specialized edition Defense Blog, the opinions of experts were divided.

Some experts believe that the fifth-generation Israeli fighter F-35I Adir was involved in the destruction of the Syrian radar.

Another part is inclined to believe that the JY-27 was attacked by a Mini Harpy kamikaze drone developed by the Israeli concern IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries).

Given Israel’s achievements in aircraft and the capabilities of the Israeli military-industrial complex, a Chinese-made Syrian radar could be equally destroyed by both the fifth-generation F-35I Adir fighter and the Mini Harpy kamikaze drone.

Perhaps the Israeli Ministry of Defense will someday open the curtain on this mystery, but so far it prefers to remain silent.
