Savchenko liquidated
On March 22, 2018, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deprived the deputy Nadezhda Savchenko of parliamentary immunity. Thus, the Ukrainian parliament actually gave the green light to bringing the "national heroine" to criminal responsibility. Hope Savchenko was detained by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine right in the Verkhovna Rada building. At the same time, Savchenko herself said that she was not going to either pass the deputy mandate or refuse the title of Hero of Ukraine.
Recall that the former navigator of the helicopter operator and the captain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko participated in the hostilities in the Donbass as an aircraft manufacturer, then she ended up in Russia, was detained and sentenced by the Donetsk City Court of the Rostov Region to 22 years in prison for involvement in the deaths of Russian TV reporters. On May 25, 2016, Vladimir Putin pardoned Nadezhda Savchenko by presidential decree, after which she returned to Ukraine, where she was recognized as a national heroine and was elected to the Verkhovna Rada.
Ukrainian authorities accuse Nadezhda Savchenko of preparing a terrorist act against the Verkhovna Rada and attempted coup. As the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko emphasized, Nadezhda Savchenko allegedly was going to install grenade launchers on a barge on the Dnieper River or on Trukhanov Island and organize shelling of the Ukrainian capital. The goal of Savchenko, according to the prosecutor general, was a terrorist act against the government box of the Verkhovna Rada. Savchenko allegedly planned to bring down the dome of the Verkhovna Rada building, and finish off the wounded deputies and officials with automatic bursts. Interestingly, Nadezhda Savchenko herself did not refute the existence of these plans, emphasizing that only the lazy did not dream of blowing up the Verkhovna Rada. But the main goal of her plans, which she herself called provocation and surrealism, was to show the Ukrainian authorities that they, too, were mortal.
Not long before the arrest, Nadezhda Savchenko accused a number of high-ranking officials of modern Ukraine of organizing the bloody massacre on the Independence Square. Not hiding her political ambition, Nadezhda Savchenko quickly turned into one of the main political opponents of Petro Poroshenko, who, as we remember, sought her release while she was in a Russian prison.
The arrest of Nadezhda Savchenko, a significant figure for modern Ukraine, testifies to a deep internal conflict that struck the country's military-political elite. In the struggle for the presidency, Petro Poroshenko and his associates are ready to renounce yesterday's "heroes", turning them into terrorists and putschists. The only interesting thing is how Ukrainian nationalists, Russian liberals, American and European politicians will react to the arrest of Savchenko - that is, those who sang her praises two years ago, drawing from an aircraft carrier the image of a true heroine of post-Maidan Ukraine.
