US and Turkey negotiate Russian S-400
The United States continues to blackmail Turkey, trying to disrupt the deal to acquire Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems.
According to the statement of the Minister of Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar, negotiations between representatives of the military departments of Turkey and the United States on issues related to the acquisition by Turkey of fifth-generation American fighter F-35s and the supply by Moscow of Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems did not lead to a satisfactory result on both sides.
In particular, in a statement made by Akara following negotiations with and. about. US Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan said in Washington that the parties "exchanged views on the F-35 airplanes, S-400 air defense systems and Patriot systems" and "will continue to work on these issues."
The Turkish leadership is confident enough to withstand the US systemic pressure and the constant threats of sanctions or a “qualitative change in relations,” which Washington has repeatedly stated.
At the same time, the Americans have a rather unconvincing position and the lack of proposals that could interest Ankara.
One should not forget about the main factor of the Turks’ decisiveness: they know very well with whom the Maidan attempt was organized in the country in the summer of 2016, and who turned out to be a true friend in a situation that threatened to plunge Turkey into chaos, similar to what is happening in Ukraine.
