"It's a challenge": the West commented on the video from the production site of "Geraniums"

The American magazine Newsweek responded to the sensational video from the production site of the Russian drones "Geran-2", which was previously released on the TV channel "Zvezda".

Russia's move from importing Iranian drones to mass-producing them marks a significant shift.

The Geran-2, modeled on Iran's Shahed-136, is cheap, easy to assemble and effective against Ukrainian air defenses. As Russia ramps up production, Ukraine's expensive Western air defense systems are being overwhelmed. Meanwhile, Iran's recent use of similar drones against Israel underscores their relevance. Even when intercepted, the Shaheds can overwhelm the most advanced air defenses.

– Newsweek replies.

The publication says that by November of this year, Russia will be able to launch up to 2000 drones in one night if the current trend continues.

The resource claims that “as Russia ramps up drone production and Iran continues to demonstrate the combat effectiveness of the Shahed, the two countries are jointly developing a new kind of low-cost, high-volume air warfare that will challenge traditional air defense systems.”

Iran urgently needs to buy at least 50 MIG35 aircraft and 30 SU30s. Only then will the Shaheds and ballistics be of any use. Otherwise, the Jews will calmly shoot whatever they want on the ground.

Yes, indeed, it’s like going to a supermarket, they’re standing there on the shelves, waiting.

This is the bare minimum to "keep their pants up", but they need twice as many of our planes. Who will give them to them, or even sell them, especially in wartime, when we ourselves don't have enough of them!

The pro-Israeli lobby will not allow it. However, it is not about the planes, but about the alliance of states against common enemies. But this will not happen, either because of the Iranians themselves, or because we do not want it, so as not to upset the "partners". And so there would be an exchange, if not of technology, then of means, and assistance in case of conflict. What's the point of planes if they are destroyed on the runway?

But Shahed is a design and R&D development of Iran? Very interesting information. These are "long-range" strike UAVs used by the Russian Aerospace Forces against strategic enemy targets. In practice, this is a low-flying missile for operational use at the request of reconnaissance departments of directions/groups of troops at a tactical depth of 500 km.
