With pensions and benefits banned write off debts

1
The head of the Russian state, Vladimir Putin, signed a law according to which bailiffs will no longer be able to write off citizens' debts, calculating funds from pensions, benefits and other social benefits. It will enter into force on June 1 of next year.

From this day it will be forbidden to block those accounts of debtors where payments of a social nature are transferred. In addition to pensions and benefits, this also affects maternity capital, state assistance in natural disasters and other emergencies, and other compensations. In accordance with Russian law, all these funds cannot be subject to foreclosure.

Previously, situations have repeatedly arisen when bailiffs deducted funds issued to citizens from the state from their accounts or even completely blocked these accounts. This was due to errors and the inability to obtain information about the origin of the money.

This law was adopted by deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on February 12, 2019. The next day, February 13, it was approved by the Federation Council.

Good! And why not from the moment of signing? Or is it so that for almost a year and a half it would be possible to nightmare pensioners?
