Erdogan: Aliyev does not seek escalation with Moscow

4 496 23

The geopolitical battle for Transcaucasia has been going on for decades. But in the last few weeks, Moscow's relations with Yerevan and Baku have deteriorated significantly. Moreover, with Azerbaijan, they have reached a critical low and are on the verge of a rupture.

This time, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan acted as an information intermediary in normalizing communication between Baku and Moscow. He gave an interview to journalists on board the plane, returning to Ankara from Baku, where he spoke with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The Turkish leader noted that he had discussed with Aliyev, among other things, the aggravation of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. Erdogan stressed that his Azerbaijani counterpart does not seek escalation with the Russian Federation and wants to resolve the conflict situation.

The topic was included in the agenda of our meeting. Mr. Aliyev is taking very cautious and balanced steps. He is not trying to aggravate the situation. From his words I understood that they intend to smooth things over

- Erdogan specified.

The head of the Turkish state added that his country has very deep diplomatic and strategic relations with both Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation. Therefore, Ankara is very closely watching the tension that has arisen between Baku and Moscow and calls on its partners to exercise restraint.

We believe that the issue will be resolved more simply and sensibly through statements that will ease diplomatic tensions.

– Erdogan explained.

He expressed hope that relations between Russia and Azerbaijan will normalize as soon as possible. Türkiye is ready to support any constructive steps.

Our greatest wish is that these sad events do not cause irreparable damage to relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.

He summed up.

He doesn't strive for escalation... And what does he strive for? To shit on and insult the great neighbor, and for him to get away with it - to understand and forgive?
    And what's offensive...

After the "plane" the relations got worse. The diplomats screwed up and had to be sorted out. I think the grievances remain. Especially when London is not sleeping. I mean - why the hell should anyone have problems out of the blue.

Erdogan is a liar, a hypocrite... ehhh... I don't know why Putin loves him so much, but cooperation with Turkey doesn't bode well for Russia. Confrontation is also useless, just stop flirting.
It would be good to drive a wedge between Turkey and Azerbaijan, but this is fantasy for the current Russian leadership.
    And here's another thing:
Freedom for the hardworking Turkish people from the tyranny of the Erdogan clan!

Ilham is far from his father... Just look at the incident when he tramples the Karabakh flag with his feet...
    The winner must be magnanimous...
Heydar Alievich would have put his son in the corner for this, at the very least Yes

News from yesterday and the day before yesterday - Rosatom is looking for someone to sell a stake in the nuclear power plants under construction in Turkey...

A previous attempt to sell the stake failed in 2018, when a consortium of Turkish firms - Cengiz Holding AS, Kolin Insaat Turizm Sanayi ve Ticaret AS and Kalyon Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret AS - pulled out of the deal, citing an inability to agree on commercial terms

We can see what Aliyev is striving for and where he is going even without Erdogan - there is no need to consider Russians fools, only Putin can selectively close his eyes to one thing or another and then wonder why his rating is falling.

Grandpa's rating isn't falling, they're reporting on the news, it's over 80 percent. It's hard to believe though.

Aliyev does not seek escalation with Moscow

And that is why people are beaten in Azerbaijan for having a Russian passport and speaking Russian.

    And the rest, beautiful marquise,
it's all right, it's all right...

If the "rooks" started behaving like this, then "Potapych" should give an answer. Drive the whole flock off the ploughed land and put them on the wing. Let them feed in their homeland. But it turns out to be a strange picture, Russians don't go to them for food, but they fly in a flock to Russia. It's unfair.

There is such a generally accepted concept - Eastern treachery. And the history of Russia (not the Russian Federation) is very familiar with this Eastern feature of politics.
