Samsung presented a revolutionary bendable Galaxy Fold

1
After a series of endless rumors, leaks and assumptions, we waited for the official presentation of Samsung's revolutionary new product, which was called Galaxy Fold. The folding device with the world's first flexible 7,3-inch Infinity Flex Display can become the new standard for future gadgets from the manufacturer. But first things first.

Thanks to the use of a new polymer layer in the main display, which almost halves the thickness of the screen, the developers managed to achieve the necessary flexibility, strength and durability. A special articulated mechanism allows the device to open smoothly and naturally, like a book.

It is worth noting that to receive calls, correspondence and other "telephone" functions, you do not have to bring the device into full-size mode. For the aforementioned manipulations, a 4,6-inch Super AMOLED display on the front panel is provided. Oddly enough, the fingerprint scanner is not built into the screen, but is located at the end of the case. The Samsung logo is also engraved there.

New items are provided with performance: a 7-nm chip with eight 64-bit CPU cores and a 12-gigabyte RAM module. The physical memory of the device is 512 GB. Galaxy Fold is running Android 9.0 Pie with its own interface, and on the frameless 7,3-inch QXGA + Dynamic AMOLED screen, you can simultaneously work with 3 applications.

Among other things, a flexible gadget from Samsung received a power system of 2 batteries with a total capacity of 4380 mAh. High-speed wired and wireless charging are supported. As for the cameras, there are 3 of them: the main one, consisting of 3 modules with an aggregate resolution of 40 megapixels, dual front (expanded) - 18 megapixels, and also frontal on an additional screen - 10 megapixels.

And finally, we add that the flexible Galaxy Fold smartphone can be connected to the Samsung DeX docking station to get a desktop environment on an external monitor. In addition, other technologies from the manufacturer are supported here, such as: Bixby, Knox, Samsung Pay, etc.
