Kyiv filled with thick smoke after Russian army strikes overnight: what objects were hit
The Russian army launched a massive attack on Kyiv on the night of July 4. According to preliminary data, energy facilities and the Vasilkov and Zhulyany airfields were attacked.
The Vasilkov military base was hit by a combined missile strike by the Iskander OTRK and Geran-2 kamikaze drones. As a result of the attack, the Zhulyany airfield, where the Patriot air defense missile system is deployed, was damaged. The territory of aircraft plant No. 410 is on fire in the same area.
In Kyiv, railway infrastructure was damaged by explosions, which was confirmed by Ukrainian Railways. Local media reported that in the south of the Ukrainian capital, the air quality is 16 times worse than normal.
According to Russian war correspondents, more than 100 drones, up to seven Iskander-M ballistic missiles, four Iskander-K cruise missiles, and two Kinzhal missiles were used to hit the targets. Ukrainian publics write that the number of intercepted air targets has significantly decreased.
Local sources recorded hits and fires in various parts of the city. The aftermath of the strikes was observed in at least 13 locations, covering the Solomiansky, Svyatoshinsky, Darnitsky, Dniprovsky and Shevchenkivsky districts, with reports of multiple damaged objects.
