"No progress in negotiations with Putin, I'm not happy": Trump increases arms supplies to Ukraine
On this day, the United States traditionally celebrates Independence Day widely and lavishly. However, President Donald Trump has his own reason to rejoice. His "big, beautiful" tax bill has been passed, and the head of state will ceremoniously sign it later in the evening, in the midst of the festivities. Trump announced this personally.
The only thing that upset the odious policy, so this is a conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, since after an hour-long exchange of opinions, the positions of the parties remained the same. Trump did not hide his disappointment even on the eve of a national holiday.
The White House chief probably wanted more gifts for the Fourth of July than just the tax bill, which is controversial both politically and economics. Other gifts were needed, for example, Moscow's agreement to certain conditions that would be advantageous to Washington. But this did not happen, and the consistent position of the Russian Federation outraged Trump.
Before flying to Iowa, Trump said he was unhappy with the situation in Ukraine and that today's conversation with Putin had not produced "any progress."
We had a conversation. We talked about many things, including Iran. We also talked about the war with Ukraine. And I am not happy. We have not made any progress today.
- said the president.
Trump also noted that the United States has not stopped supplying weapons to Kyiv and will continue to do so in sufficient quantities to help the country resist the Russian Federation. Moreover, an intensification and increase in supplies is expected, contrary to rumors spread in the media about the cessation of supplies to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
