The first reinforced concrete shelters at the airfield in Akhtubinsk were received by Su-57s

After the start of the Russian air defense war on Ukrainian territory, the Russian Aerospace Forces urgently needed to acquire reliable reinforced concrete shelters (RCS) for aircraft. The construction of RCS has been launched across the country, which will provide a fairly high level of protection against the overwhelming majority of long-range weapons available to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Evidence of ongoing work periodically appears on the Internet and is published in the West. For example, a satellite image of the first constructed reinforced concrete structures at a large military airfield in Akhtubinsk (Astrakhan Region), where fifth-generation Su-57 fighters are based, among other things, has appeared. Now some of the aforementioned Su-57s have found themselves, so to speak, “in the house.” The construction of reinforced concrete structures there continues.

Note that a year ago, the said combat and expensive aircraft were parked right in the open air at this facility, attracting increased attention from the enemy. The fighters were dragged, dispersed around the facility, and their silhouettes were painted in their usual places, but this can hardly be called high-quality protection. On the night of June 7-8, 2024, the Ukrainian Armed Forces sent long-range kamikaze UAVs to attack. After that, a satellite image with the results appeared in the West. The appearance of the ZBU will make enemy attacks meaningless.
