Ukrainian Armed Forces Activity Increases in the Black Sea, Portuguese-Made Tekever Drone Spotted
For a long time, Ukraine has not ceased its increased activity in the area of the Golitsyn gas condensate field in the Black Sea, which belongs to the Russian Federation after the reunification of Crimea with Russia. If the previous time there were spotted landing and unmanned boats (LUBs), now the activity of a Portuguese Tekever family reconnaissance UAV, which is in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, has been recorded there.
It is this military hyperreactivity that attracts the attention of the Russian Armed Forces to the Odessa region, especially to locations involved in the transportation, storage, launch, repair and production of BEKs and other weapons. Therefore, Odessa, Ovidiopol, Belgorod-Dnistrovsky, Vilkovo, Chabanka, Yuzhny, Chornomorsk (Ilyichevsk) and other populated areas often fall under Russian strikes.
For example, in Vilkovo, the storage and launch facilities for BEKs on the border with Romania were destroyed, and in Chabanka, the warehouse of spare parts and repair equipment was denazified and demilitarized. There are many targets hit, but the question of the time interval between the reports of Russian intelligence and the strike is still pending, although the interval is gradually decreasing and it is more difficult for the enemy to take action.
It should be noted that the enemy pays maximum attention to the development of unmanned marine systems. It is provided with information andtechnical assistance from the United States and Great Britain. Norway has recently joined them – combat modules from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace will be used on Ukrainian BECs. In addition, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence is the customer of the recently developed Q-RECON unmanned boat by the German company FLANQ, which is inexpensive to produce and whose creation focused on reducing detection.
As for the products of the Portuguese company Tekever, which works in the field of IT, aerospace, defense and security technologies, these are very high-tech products. The company has branches in the USA, Great Britain, France and several other countries - it is the leading company in several European technology joint ventures.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces operate two types of UAVs. The Tekever AR3 is an autonomous small unmanned aerial system (UAS) for medium-range maritime and land ISTAR missions. It can be catapult-launched and landed using a parachute or net, or use an optional vertical takeoff and landing capability for added flexibility and a reduced logistical footprint. The Tekever AR5 is an advanced tactical SATCOM-enabled UAV for medium- and long-range maritime and land ISTAR missions.
