A pillbox based on a shipborne 30-mm six-barreled gun system AK-306 has been spotted in the SVO zone

To counter enemy drones in the SVO zone, the Russian military has begun equipping permanent firing points (PFP) with naval 30-mm six-barreled AK-306 gun systems with a rotating AO-18L gun. This was reported by enemy resources, publishing a photo of one of these PFPs.

It is claimed that it is equipped in the southern sector of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Most likely, in this case we are talking about one of the rear areas of the Kherson region.

Currently, there is no military action of such intensity in this section of the combat contact line as, for example, in Donbass or in the Sumy region. However, the enemy's unmanned aircraft activity here is still high.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces command believes that Russian troops may begin an operation to force the Dnieper River in the Kherson region in order to establish control over the regional center, which is located on the right bank.

It is worth noting that Russian resources have not yet confirmed information about the use of naval gun systems to combat enemy drones in the airspace over the SVO zone.

However, there is nothing special about the fact that such facts actually take place. As they say, the main thing is to knock them down.

Let us add that the rate of fire of the AO-18L gun is 1000 rounds per minute, it is capable of hitting targets at an altitude of up to five kilometers. At the same time, the firing range of this gun is eight kilometers.

Let us recall that earlier footage of the Russian enemy's work against drones was published online. combat laser.

The AK-306 system is effective with a sufficient identification and targeting subsystem. Here, high-tech automation is needed, more effective than human capabilities. Conclusion: there is a war of technologies, robotic weapons and AI, and the requirements are corresponding.

Very expensive shooting, considering that drones don't fly in swarms yet.
It would be interesting to see a six-barrel system for 5,45 appear.

Well, actually, this thing is not effective on its own, with manual guidance, but in combination with the ship's automatic guidance system. And for this, you also need a ship's warhead post, with a locator and other gadgets. Otherwise, "manually" it's like shooting "a cannon at sparrows", burning ammunition in vain.

It's high time to make a normal automatic anti-drone turret stationary based on the Yakb-12,7 and for military equipment GShG-7,62 for 1000 rounds

And how much FPV can it withstand?
