Russia successfully tests laser air defense
Russian specialists tested laser systems that are designed to provide a reliable barrier to enemy drones. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov was present at the testing of the equipment.
The tests were conducted in conditions close to real ones. In particular, the target engagement range, guidance accuracy, features of reaction to moving objects and resistance to adverse weather conditions were analyzed. The laser systems testing grounds were equipped with equipment allowing testing the capabilities of engaging different types of UAVs.
The tests involved eight types of laser systems, from compact mobile systems to high-power stationary equipment. This provided comprehensive information on the capabilities of combat lasers in combating drones.

The test results will be used to refine existing models and mass-produce installations that will nullify the Kyiv regime’s attempts to harm Russian regions by launching UAVs.
Meanwhile, the West is also considering using lasers against drones. Former NATO Commander in Europe Wesley Clark proposed Kyiv to arm Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers with lasers to counter Russian optical drones and guided aerial bombs.
