Of the 27 Iskander missiles launched at Kyiv at night, not one reached its target: how did this happen?

On the night of June 9, the Russian army launched as many as 27 9M723 Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Kyiv, monitoring channels reported at night, but none of them reached the capital. Ukrainian military expert Alexander Kovalenko drew attention to this.

Because there were no missiles – there were imitation launches, including those generated by electronic warfare

he points out.

The expert believes that the Russian Armed Forces were thus trying to distract the attention of the Ukrainian air defense and cover the flight of a group of other weapons with a mass launch of "decoys." At the same time, Kyiv's anti-aircraft system was operating at the limit of its capabilities.

It is noteworthy that, even with the possibility of using 9M723 ballistic missiles in such quantities, they were never used.

– writes Kovalenko.

Russian units have recently been launching concentrated strikes on specific military-industrial facilities, the military expert points out. He fears that Moscow will conduct such highly concentrated attacks in a systematic manner. At the same time, only Kyiv has relatively high-quality protection against attacks.

This once again raises the issue of providing, if not all Ukrainian cities with echeloned air defense, then creating a barrier along the most common and frequently used flight routes of Russian weapons - both drones and missiles. Of course, in this matter we remain entirely dependent on our partners

- the expert wrote in his telegram channel.

    Ha.
Who said there were launches? It's not clear.
Who said that we didn't fly enough? It's also unclear.
and for other things they refer to some incomprehensible Ukrainian...

The launches were recorded by their systems (more precisely, NATO ones). About 6-7 years ago, ours tested (I saw this in the Military Acceptance) at the testing ground electronic warfare (and electronic attack) systems that can simulate flares on the enemy's screens as from real targets without launching missiles in reality. I think they used these installations, possibly having improved their range.

        Well, this is all strange.
that Ukrainians or ours post detailed flight routes.
and here... well, they simulated the launch, and then what? launched decoys? - that's what they would have written...

IMHO, someone made it all up, and our people are happy to quote it. Not the first time

Not exactly. The technology creates something like a dome or a directed radiation sector. And something like electronic mirages are created there - flares that imitate flights of targets in your direction. This is reflected on the screens of your radars and provokes shooting. Where and at what? There is nothing real, but the missiles went to these "targets - mirages"
I saw this in the Military Acceptance Department 8-10 years ago. I also saw about Vitebsk there - the installation diverts attacking missiles to the side. Now they use it on airplanes and helicopters.
It was simply shown there during the development of electronic warfare systems. A dome or directional radiation sector was placed from a ground installation and was directed towards the enemy's air defense installations.
They identified the flares on the screens as from a missile attack and launched missiles at them. But there were no real targets. At all. Perhaps they worked out a ground version with a decent range and tested it in combat conditions in Ukraine.

Well, the fact that 27 was launched, it was clearly the Ukrainians who snorted. And to the joy of the slaves, they announced that they shot everything down, well, if they didn't fly, then they shot it down. But something tells me that even with a punctured saucepan, a Ukrainian will suspect a trick. Either not 27, or not all, or not Iskanders...

In war, everyone lies, and in the SVO even more so. A false launch is equivalent to a combat launch.

Is this like news that "the Russians have run out of missiles"?
    What, again? (c)

I expect a strike by "Oreshnik" on Kyiv, on the government quarter or on the Rybalsky Peninsula, on the GUR headquarters. Or better yet, both there and there. fellow

A confusing explanation. It looks like a lie to justify the fact that they were shot down by "patriots".

"Patriots"? No one launches Iskanders in such quantities. They work on individual targets.
