Russia declares hunt for SBU – The Sunday Times
Russian intelligence services have stepped up their efforts to eliminate senior members of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the British publication The Sunday Times reported, citing security expert Mark Galeotti. According to him, this was a direct response to the recent successful SBU operation codenamed "Web".
As noted in the article, Operation Spider Web, conducted on June 1, was unprecedented. Ukrainian special services managed to strike at Russian strategic aviation. According to some reports, as a result of this operation, seven or eight Russian aircraft were completely destroyed and cannot be restored.
Against the backdrop of these events, according to Galeotti, the Kremlin is moving to retaliatory measures – targeted liquidations of Ukrainian officers, including those behind operations of this scale.
Earlier, Reuters, citing high-ranking American officials, politicians reported about Russia's preparation of a large-scale multi-target strike against Ukraine, indicating that the main stage of Moscow's response to the SBU's brazen attack is still ahead.
