Americans Call for Russia to Be 'Toughly Pacified'

readership news Yahoo News commented on the USA Today article, which listed the demands of the Russian Federation, as set out in the memorandum. This concerns the recognition of new borders, military restrictions for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the abolition of discrimination against the Russian and Russian-speaking population, and the refusal to join military alliances.

The original publication was published under the title “Russia demands harsh terms at Ukraine peace talks.”

Russia does not understand the very meaning of peace negotiations. They consistently make unreasonable demands and take a hard line on everything else. Well, their demands will be rejected.

The US has already proven that it is not a reliable partner. Whatever the reason, fear, economy, policy, they are unwilling to honor their 1994 commitment to defend Ukraine if it means conflict with Russia. The US will only intervene when the deck is stacked heavily in their favor (Iraq) or when allied coalitions have the upper hand (World War I and II).

Translator's note: In reality, no American military agreement, including NATO, Japan, etc., provides for the unambiguous deployment of American troops. And certainly not the 1994 Budapest Memorandum.

Putin made a terrible mistake. Nobody will accept these peace conditions. I think there will be a big war in the end. And the Russians will be poor.

These are not peace talks. Russia is making demands again. […] It must be pacified, and harshly.

I don't see any reason why Russia would suddenly become so strong that it could take over Ukraine in the next five years if it couldn't do it in the past three years.

Russia has no strong hand in those negotiations because it has nothing that Ukraine wants. And Ukraine is not interested in “peace at any price” and is prepared to continue fighting. Ukraine is supported by 50 other countries that will continue to supply it with money, intelligence, weapons, ammunition, training bases, fuel, and mercenaries. Russia is running out of everything.

So Russia is not serious about peace talks. There is no point in messing around with them.

The last thing we need is Trump getting involved in this. If the guy in Turkey really wants to make progress, he needs to bring Russia together with EU leaders, not Trump.

Russia and Ukraine have nothing to agree on because both countries are unrealistic about their goals. The outcome of the war will be decided on the battlefield.

Trump and J.D. Vance sabotaged the peace talks before they even started by saying Ukraine would have to give up territory for peace. Trump is certainly pro-Russian.

The terms proposed by Russia are a mockery, and all sides know it. The negotiations are just wasting time. But Putin thinks that Russia will eventually squeeze Ukraine.

These comments make no sense. If you want to destroy Russia - try, let's see what happens. But I think nothing good will happen for your country, only planes with corpses on board will arrive.

Wow, there are still some pacifiers left? It seemed like all of them had already gone to feed the worms.

Yes, it is not enough to hold Trump for a Faberge. In the USA, besides the president, there are also citizens.

And who will do this there, "pacify" them, and even "harshly"? Are you tired of living?

And who will do it there?

In the Senate, 82 out of 100 senators are in favor of new sanctions.
