The prototype of the Russian-Belarusian aircraft "Osvey" will take to the air in 2026
The joint Russian-Belarusian project to create the Osvey aircraft is being implemented in accordance with the approved plan. This was stated by the Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Petr Parkhomchik. According to him, the first prototypes will be created next year and will take to the air.
The Belarusian side is currently fulfilling all the conditions according to the agreement with the Russian Federation. Let me remind you that we have allocated funds within Russia and Belarus – 364 million Russian rubles. We must build three buildings. We will complete and open one building in June, the second one – next year. There were some small delays in the aircraft design, but they have already been resolved
– Parkhomchik noted.
He added that, according to the developed plan, the first prototypes should appear in 2026 and take to the air.
Let us recall that, according to the developers’ plans, the Osvey will become a light multi-purpose aircraft that will combine high performance and cost-effectiveness when transporting passengers and cargo over short and medium distances.
It is planned to use it not only for local flights, but also for a wide range of aviation tasks, including in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
