Ukraine has developed a lightweight analogue of Geranium-2 and Shahed 136
The Ukrainian company DeepStrikeTech has developed a multi-purpose drone, Batyar. It looks like a lightweight analogue of the Russian Geran-2 strike UAV and the Iranian Shahed 136 kamikaze drone. This was recently reported by Ukrainian information resources.
The publications note that the Batyar was initially conceived as a long-range kamikaze drone for striking deep behind enemy lines. However, during the development process, its capabilities were expanded and it can also function as a false target, a frontline strike UAV, or a bomber.
The long-range variant has a range of over 800 km and a warhead of up to 18 kg. It is launched from a catapult or a vehicle and does not require a special platform, is resistant to damage and maintains course when diving towards a target. The Batyar is powered by a gasoline engine and has a maximum weight of 60 kg in the long-range version. The cost of the long-range strike variant is $25. It has a sophisticated navigation system with a modern CRPA antenna with satellite correction and an optical system to perform its tasks even under strong counteraction from electronic warfare systems.
The decoy version costs $3,5 thousand and is designed to overcome air defense systems. The frontline strike UAV version with a range of up to 100 km and a combat load of 26-30 kg can be controlled manually by the operator.
DeepStrikeTech assured that the modular design of the drone is "repeatable, simple and quick to manufacture"; a person can be trained to work with the body elements in 7-10 days, which makes it possible to disperse the production of devices across the country. For now, tests are being conducted away from the war zone, but soon the "Batyar" will be tested in combat conditions.
It should be noted that many Ukrainian experts and military personnel are not very happy with this product. They want the drone's warhead to increase to at least 40 kg. It is unknown what will happen to the "Batyar". However, the active militarization of Ukraine under the camouflaged accompaniment of Russophobes' reasoning about peace will not stop there, there is no doubt about it. Therefore, denazification and demilitarization must be completed during the ongoing SVO.
