US Congress will try to stop the country's exit from the INF Treaty

On November 3, 2020, the next US presidential election is due to take place, but the election campaign has already begun and is escalating every day. For example, Democratic presidential candidate, member of the House of Representatives (Committee on Foreign Affairs) Tulsi Gabbard recently promised to prevent incumbent US President Donald Trump from pulling the country out of the INF Treaty.

And now, it became known that Gabbard fulfilled this word. She introduced into the lower house of the US Congress a bill banning the country's exit from the INF Treaty. According to Gabbard, the bill is designed to prevent a new “cold war”, and also will not allow taxpayers to spend money on the next arms race, because funds can be spent on other, more important goals and objectives.

She considers Trump’s decision to withdraw from the INF Treaty as “reckless," increasing world instability and increasing the chance of a nuclear war. Gabbard is known for her views, which are completely different from the views of the current US Administration. For example, she does not consider Syria and its president Bashar al-Assad as enemies of the United States. And she stated this more than once. Moreover, in 2017, she secretly visited Syria and met with Assad, after which a huge scandal erupted in the United States.

It should be noted that Gabbard was born in American Samoa (this is in the Pacific Ocean). She is the first member of the Hindu Faith Congress in US history. In July 2004, she refused a deputy mandate and volunteered for Iraq, where she served in the medical regiment of the US Army for a year. US National Guard Major, Iraq War Veteran.

By the way, Trump really had a serious problem, very inconvenient for political fight and this is not Hillary Clinton. After all, this is not a walking “hysteria” in a skirt, but a competent and authoritative opponent, a real competitor in the upcoming elections, which may appeal to American voters. But what will win, youth or experience, and whether Gabbard will become the first woman president in US history, time will tell. The election race has just begun.
