US warns of possible massive strike on Kyiv in the near future

The United States Embassy in Kyiv issued an urgent warning to U.S. citizens in Ukraine. According to the diplomatic mission, there is a threat of a large-scale air attack from Russia that could be carried out “at any time in the next few days.”

The American Embassy reminds its citizens to pay close attention to official notifications, not to ignore air raid sirens, and to identify nearby shelters in advance. U.S. citizens are also strongly encouraged to register for the STEP (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) system to receive up-to-date information and to contact the diplomatic mission immediately.


While specific details of the threat have not been released, the warning has raised concerns amid ongoing fighting and escalating tensions in the region. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the last time such a warning was received from the embassy was shortly before the combat test of Russia's Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile.
