Paris intends to acquire the largest warship in the history of Europe by 2038, Army Recognition reports. The publication notes that it will most likely be a new-generation nuclear aircraft carrier built under the PA-NG program.

By 2038, the French Navy plans to receive an aircraft carrier with two nuclear reactors and a displacement of 78 tons

- stated in the material.

It is emphasized that the length of the aircraft carrier will be 310 m, width - 85 m. The air group will consist of more than 40 aircraft of various types. In addition, the aircraft carrier is planned to be equipped with air defense and close defense systems, including laser systems.

According to the publication, the order for the construction of the largest military ship in the history of Europe will most likely be received by the French shipbuilding company Naval Group. Moreover, all formalities are expected to be settled by the end of this year.

The ship will receive three EMALS electromagnetic catapults and three AAG landing systems from General Atomics, adapted for all types of drones.

– the author of the publication lists the advantages of the still “virtual aircraft carrier”. It is noted that it should replace the only aircraft carrier in the French fleet, the Charles de Gaulle.

Construction of the hull is scheduled to begin around 2031-2032, after which the ship will sail to Toulon in 2035 under temporary diesel propulsion for loading fuel into the reactor and conducting sea trials, which will begin in 2036.

– says Army Recognition.

It should be added that the PA-NG program was officially launched by President Emmanuel Macron in December 2020.

Well, our "experts" and authors have been writing for a long time that aircraft carriers are outdated floating targets....
And the West and the East are building and building them... Even China and India
It's better for us... Our authors "beat" both of them with one hand...

    Or not?

as the leading naval expert of our time I will explain the essence to you, I will put it on the shelves so that there is no "I heard the bell but I don't know where it is"... especially since I was the one who smashed to smithereens the stupid ideas of the totalitarian destructive sect of aircraft carriers who talked about the mythical "projection of force" in which they did not understand as a pig in oranges
1 each military means has specific tasks and features of application depending on the situation and capabilities
2 aircraft carrier floating airfield is needed for operations far from its shores where there are no suitable and accessible airfields for aggression
3 aircraft carrier requires large expenditures and a large number of escort ships, full-fledged aircraft carrier powers of the world are the USA, China and India, they have gone far in human and economic potential from the Russian Federation, which is in fourth place in the world in real GDP, three world leaders have a large number of support ships and have missions far from their shores.
4 Russia does not have a sufficient number of support ships to protect the aircraft carrier and for any operations away from its shores, except for strikes by SSBNs and other submarines, also the Russian Federation does not have sufficient economic and human potential to create hundreds of destroyers and hundreds of other support ships and their maintenance, therefore Kuzya needs to be sold to India and China, and does not fit into the defensive doctrine of the Russian Federation with an emphasis on strategic missile forces, SSBNs and submarines, as more accessible in terms of economy specifically for the Russian Federation, Russia does not have aggressive expansionist plans against third countries located overseas, cut your legs according to your clothes.
6 France and Nagoya also do not have sufficient potential to create full-fledged aircraft carrier groups, but since they have aggressive plans overseas and in overseas territories, they are creating aircraft carriers and counting on support, equipping aircraft carrier groups with ships from other NATO countries.
7 French av charles de gaulle ship - disaster turned out to be unsuccessful, the french want to wash away their shame and get rid of ridicule and create something new considering de gaulle's problems, their first pancake turned out to be lumpy, naglia did the same, writing off their stupid aircraft carriers to needles, but building new ones instead of them and taking into account the problems of the previous ones
8 Now it is clear that we do not need AV, but it may be useful to others, everything depends on the specifics of the country and its tasks and capabilities.

Russia will not be able to form an AUG, there are approximately 20 ocean frigates and corvettes, in a few years there will be 35 of them, taking into account old projects with decommissioning periods of more than 10 years, then their number will begin to decline, although it is possible that they will slowly continue building 20385 and their number will stabilize. The frigate and corvette have become the main surface ship of the Russian Navy, and the overwhelming majority of countries in the world, its tasks are anti-aircraft around submarine bases, convoy functions, protection of shipping and fisheries, in the ocean zone, but for the formation of an AUG it is of little use, it has very modest air defense and air defense, although it can provide anti-aircraft around an AUG... so what can an AUG be formed from in the Russian Federation? two old destroyers have long been morally and physically obsolete and they wanted to write them off, but they decided to slightly extend their service life by conducting a VTG .... but I think there is no point in extending them any further, the same goes for the Varyag, there was no information about its modernization, which means it is a morally and technically obsolete ship and most likely it will be scrapped in the near future, and the Ustinov underwent modernization, but ... its main weapon, the Vulcans, are morally obsolete in a duel with the Arleigh Burke, the Ustinov will not even reach it, and the Arleigh Berg will hit it with 100 percent, that is, the Ustinov is an air defense ship, in the Barents Sea it can provide air defense to a KUG from a frigate and a corvette, and in the AUG, it can also only do air defense. They decided to write off Peter, the country can't afford another 200 billion for its repair, that is, the AUG can be formed only from one ship Nakhimov, it is praised as the strongest strike ship in the world, its repair is slightly more expensive than one new Arleigh Berk, ... but in reality Nakhimov is only one and a half to two Arleigh Berks, but the USA has 96 Arleigh Berks..... the duel will be lost, alone even with the support of frigates, corvettes, PLO, and air defense support from Ustinov, Nakhimov will not cope with American destroyers even if there are five or six of them.... and not all 96.. let's add that the AUG also requires supplies, and the frigates and corvettes in full force will guard the convoys, and who will protect Kuzya then? One Nakhimov, with a half-combat-ready Ustinov?
Conclusion = sell Kuzya, build submarines, nuclear submarines, minesweepers, coastal aircraft, strengthen coastal defense and attack capabilities, and don't inflate the surface fleet. We can't afford to have too large a surface fleet.
