Why is Russia not interested in China?

11
The Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Li Keqiang, re-elected to the post on March 18, said at the session of the All-China Assembly of People's Representatives about the enormous benefits from the development of bilateral relations between China and Russia. But these are the words. And what really is?

The head of the State Council also said that he was sending a signal to the population of Russia: the stability of the "comprehensive partnership" between Russia and China is beneficial to both parties and the whole world. However, he immediately reduced the comprehensive partnership to trade, noting that the trade turnover between our countries, now amounting to $ 80 billion, should increase to $ 100 billion. Just ...

Meanwhile, Chinese economy many times higher than Russian. Last year, China's gross domestic product, taking into account purchasing power parity, was about $ 22 trillion, and the Russian one was only about four trillion. That is, we are initially unequal partners.

We sell gas and oil to China. A little more forest and color. That is, we “drive” raw materials. They supply us with finished products: machine tools, equipment, clothing, shoes and chemical products. And selling processed products is always more profitable.

For Russia, China is the most important trading partner, ahead of Germany, Holland and other Netherlands in terms of volume. And here we are in the Chinese list of trading partners only in 10th place. Russian products in the total foreign trade of China is only 2%. Our trade turnover of $ 80 billion is not comparable with China's trade with the European Union ($ 500 billion), the United States ($ 470 billion), Japan ($ 300 billion) and South Korea ($ 200 billion).

Recall: in 2014, Russia signed a contract with the PRC for the construction of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. It was understood that we would drive gas to the Chinese in the amount of $ 400 billion annually. So far this has not happened. And even the Chinese have no plans for this, it seems, if the head of the Cabinet calls the figure of $ 100 billion as a guideline.

Chinese business is still very reluctant to invest in the Russian economy, but at the same time actively buys factories in Europe. Chinese leaders praise friendship with Russia, but things do not move beyond words.

But our officials and businessmen “chew snot”. The population of China is 1,35 billion people. Almost 10 times more than in Russia. And all these Chinese are potential buyers of our products. Moreover, in China, they say, a fashion for everything abroad has appeared. However, we do not offer them anything worthwhile, except for ice cream. Whoever has been to the PRC knows that one can hardly find Russian goods in stores. But the shtatovskih - a dime a dozen: from shoes, phones and cafes to cars.

But Russian engineers could design and build in China the high-speed railways that the country needs. Or build at home. But the Chinese do not offer us this, and we do not insist. Apparently, we don’t feel confident that we will pull. China itself will not do anything for its northern neighbor until it sees a benefit for itself. That's where we stand.

In China, high-speed roads are not like ours. It is they who help us, or rather drag us. I was in China, I saw their high-speed highways - on overpasses, no contact with the ground, moving and other obstacles.

Well, why is it not interesting? Very interesting. As a supplier of oil, gas, coal and timber. And about highways under the guidance of our engineers ... are you so joking?

Here the Kukryniksy, masters of a satirical battle poster, would probably depict the current situation as follows: Russia with all its strength swears with the US and the EU, keeps "defense", and behind Russia stands China, which Russia is, well, absolutely not interested in, and sharpens knife on an American grinder, licking his lips.

Russia impedes great friendship with the United States - that’s the whole point. We speak of idle talk about a strategic partnership that is actually being built with the states (the economy obliges).

Russia also builds nuclear power plants in China, sells planes and missiles - but this is probably also "raw material"
But Chinese clothes and coffee makers - of course, a real "high-tech"!

Yes, it is very good that Russia and China have not established "real relations."
And it would be good if the Power of Siberia never took place. Why does Russia need it? This is a real economic stranglehold for Russia, and for a hundred years ahead.
Why is Russia itself climbing into this bondage? How then get out of it? After all, Russian children and grandchildren will have to disentangle all this, or become Chinese. Only one way out. And why then was the whole History of the Russian State needed, the History of the entire Russian People? Yes, then it was necessary to surrender, even during WWII. It turns out that all those colossal victims were in vain.
Whatever Russian tsars (and then the Bolsheviks) would be, but they always upheld and maintained the integrity and independence of the Russian State.
And now a similar catastrophic situation has arisen, nothing better. And what are the actions of Russia?

So why is Power of Siberia a noose? I don't see the logic)) Are the other gas pipelines also a noose?

Ask the Turkmens - how many benefits have gas pipelines brought to them, and indeed the supply of gas to China? Moreover, the Chinese, unlike Russia, built the gas pipelines themselves.

Well, Turkmenistan against the background of its neighbors looks pretty good, so it turns out that they did not go broke ...
To build gas pipelines by ourselves, and not just to drive gas through them, this is only a plus, because stimulates production, metallurgy, jobs.
And most importantly (which I can’t understand), how can it happen purely technically that supplying something somewhere will become a noose? Purchase - it can still be if the supplier becomes a monopolist - but the supplier always has the advantage of twisting the valve =))
