Justify the Spending: UAE to Write Government Laws for the First Time in History by AI

1 101 4

The United Arab Emirates is set to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to draft new legislation and review and amend existing laws, in the Gulf state's most radical attempt yet to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI). technology, into which it has invested billions of dollars. The country's leadership sees only this opportunity to justify the spending. This is reported by the Financial Times.

The plan for what state media has called the first “AI-powered regulation” in human history goes further than anything else being created in this space. No doubt other countries and governments are trying to use AI to become more efficient, using billing aggregation, improving public service delivery, but not to actively propose changes to existing laws by processing government and legal data.

This new AI-powered legislative system will change the way we make laws, making the process faster and more accurate.

- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and vice president of the UAE, said in a statement quoted by state media.

The fund, dedicated to the development of AI in the UAE, has already invested more than $30 billion, so the attempt to prove the effectiveness of the investment is very demonstrative and urgent.
The government expects AI to speed up lawmaking by 70%, according to a cabinet report. But independent researchers have noted that it could face many challenges and pitfalls. These range from AI becoming incomprehensible to its users, to biases caused by its artificially trained skills, and questions about whether AI interprets laws in the same way as humans.

And in the Russian Federation, officials need to be replaced with AI, then there will be no one to take kickbacks and bribes, and decisions will be made with the highest decision-making quality factor.

If the UAE's laws are written by AI, I wouldn't be surprised if this Muslim country becomes Christian in a short time.
Why? Because AI itself was created in a Christian country.
They want to replace officials with artificial intelligence.
And who will AI want to replace living people with? Have people thought about this?!

We have impressive success in lawmaking without any AI:

Out of curiosity, I looked at how many laws the UK Parliament passed in 2023 – 57, including the budget and amendments to it.
Do you know how many laws the US Congress passed in 2023? 27 (twenty-seven). And in the US, many political commentators criticized Congress for passing so many laws, as the norm is 12-18 new laws per year.
Do you know how many laws the State Duma passed in Russia in 2023? 694! 12 times more than in the UK, and more than 25 times more than in the US. And that's not even counting the various bylaws passed by government agencies, which in Western societies would also be passed as laws. With these, I'm sure the total will exceed 1000 laws per year.
How can one describe a society that passes 700, let alone 1000, laws a year? Only as revolutionary, four laws every working day, nonstop. Such a revolutionary society demands constant introduction, prohibition, restructuring, redistribution, regulation, amendment, and so on.
So no, true conservatism is found in the West. But in Russia, it's "Revolution has a beginning, but it has no end!"
