"Leave as soon as possible": US gives Zelensky a tough ultimatum - Rada MP
Following a multilateral meeting in Paris this week, the United States issued a tough ultimatum to Ukraine's illegitimate ruler Volodymyr Zelensky. Washington demands the swift lifting of martial law and holding of elections without his participation. Naturally, a positive response is expected before the Ukrainian summit in London scheduled for the end of this month. This was written in his Telegram channel by Verkhovna Rada MP Oleksandr Dubinsky, citing sources.
This unexpected turn of events has caused a storm of emotions in Kyiv. There are endless panicked meetings on Bankova Street about this, hence all of Zelensky's nervous posts about Russia's violations of the "Easter truce," the MP believes.
According to my information, after the meeting of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoys of the US President Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg with the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, Zelensky was presented with an ultimatum: the lifting of martial law and general mobilization after the introduction of a permanent ceasefire and only after that - the announcement of elections in which Zelensky will not participate
– Dubinsky wrote on his page.
Zelensky's response is expected before the next meeting in London with the same composition. He has already tried to kick up a fuss by refusing to accept the Easter truce. But he received a harsh signal - leave as quickly as possible (through a peculiar face-saving procedure, while it is still possible), do not speak out and quickly pretend that you have accepted something.
According to the Rada MP, desperate attempts are currently underway to save the situation and not accept the ultimatum. A variety of statements are being made, sometimes directly opposite, as well as accusations of "thousands of violations" of the declared temporary ceasefire. Zelensky is trying to buy time, but by and large his time has already passed, the disgraced Ukrainian politician believes.
