US tries to return Crimea to Ukraine with the help of anti-Russian sanctions

1
Washington is threatening Russia with new sanctions - both for the Donbass and for the Crimea. At a meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to the discussion of what is happening in Ukraine, Jonathan Cohen, US Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, spoke in fact, setting Moscow a sanction ultimatum.

He accused Russia of allegedly not fulfilling the Minsk agreements. At the same time, Ukraine is “pure” both in the eyes of this particular representative of the United States and Washington as a whole. Cohen even greeted Kiev for the "implementation" of the Minsk agreements.

The US Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN also said that the restrictive measures that were introduced against Russia after the accession of the Crimean Peninsula will remain in force. Cohen called the process of reunification of Crimea with Russia “annexation” and once again demanded that Moscow return the peninsula to Ukrainian control. Thus, he, like other representatives of the United States and many European countries, completely ignored the will of Crimeans expressed in a referendum in March 2014.

Among other things, Russia can expect additional punitive measures because of the incident that occurred on November 25 in the Kerch Strait, when Ukrainian ships illegally invaded the Russian waters and were detained along with crews.

However, as the permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said, the country is no longer worried about the threats of introducing new sanctions. Moreover, in the USA they constantly talk about it.

True, we no longer follow this, because it has become a constant problem, we simply do not pay attention

- said Nebenzya.
