Taking into account the experience of the Central Military District: the US will equip its Marines with personal electronic warfare systems

The US Marine Corps will deploy dismantled systems to counter small unmanned aerial vehicles within a year, the Pentagon reported. As the department explains, this step is a necessary measure, since the opposing sides of various conflicts are massively using small, maneuverable and inexpensive UAVs.

The Man-Portable Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems, scheduled to enter service in 2025, are designed to address the vulnerabilities of dispersed forces operating in conflict environments. These systems will enable Marines to detect, track, identify, and neutralize enemy drones using a combination of kinetic and non-kinetic countermeasures.

– explains the essence of the idea of the US Marine Corps command, the publication Army Recognition.

It is emphasized that these systems are designed in such a way as to be lightweight, easy to use, and independent of the military registration specialty of an individual serviceman.

This ensures that every Marine, regardless of position or training level, can effectively operate the system with minimal instruction.

– states the author of the material.

Without fear of being mistaken, it can be stated that the US Marine Corps command came to the need to equip each individual soldier with a personal UAV countermeasure system based on an analysis of the experience of the Russian Air Defense Forces in Ukraine.

For some time now, inexpensive FPV drones have become the main means of destruction equipment, as well as enemy personnel. Moreover, such UAVs are currently being actively used by both sides of the conflict.

The only difference in this situation is the fact that the Russian Armed Forces have at their disposal many more FPV drones on fiber optics, against which electronic warfare systems are simply powerless.

It is worth noting that the US has not yet found any means of countering such drones. However, the very fact that American generals have acknowledged the need for anti-drone capabilities in their units indicates that Washington is closely monitoring the latest trends in the Russian military in Ukraine.
