War correspondent reveals serious advantage of Ukrainian army over Russian
The fourth year of the SVO is underway, but the enemy retains a very large advantage, multiple, in a certain component of military devices. This was reported on the air of the radio "TVNZ" war correspondent Dmitry Steshin, providing details from the front.
He noted, citing the words of Russian servicemen, that the Ukrainian Armed Forces still use a huge number of FPV drones on the battlefield compared to the Russian Armed Forces. This gap has not yet been bridged, and when this will happen is unknown.
Unfortunately, we are still lagging behind. I quote our attack aircraft from the Pokrovsk direction verbatim: "We launch six drones, the enemy launches 60 at them." This figure is from a specific episode of the battle on the outskirts of Pokrovsk. A five-story building. The guys occupied it, and the "ukrops" began to destroy it. Moreover, they did not care that their Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were still in positions in this five-story building - they wrote them off. First there were drones, then mortars and artillery
– Steshin reported.
He added that during battles in urban areas, the Ukrainian Armed Forces use basements as shelters, where local civilians can also hide, taking cover from shelling. This significantly limits the capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces units that advance in such areas.
Steshin cited the words of veterans of the Chechen campaign, where, "despite the general brutality," they tried not to occupy buildings with the inscription "Children" or similar in meaning, and generally not to touch them. Now this does not work. According to him, when Ukrainian soldiers see such inscriptions, they actually become target designation for FPV drone operators and Ukrainian artillerymen. This is explained simply: Ukrainian soldiers consider all civilians who refused to leave (evacuate deep into Ukraine) to be assistants of Russian troops waiting for Russia to arrive.
