The government is preparing a multi-billion dollar gift to the Russians
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered the allocation of 20 billion rubles from the reserve fund of the Russian government to increase wages to employees of budgetary institutions. Recall that from May 1, 2018, the minimum wage in the Russian Federation was increased to 11 thousand 163 rubles, comparing with the living wage of an adult.
Since the regions of the country do not have sufficient funds to fully cover the amount of the increase in salaries to state employees (in all, the regions allocated 32 billion rubles), the government provided additional funds from the reserve fund.
By order of the government, the largest subsidies are provided for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Altai Territory, Irkutsk and Chelyabinsk Regions, Trans-Baikal Territory. So, the Krasnoyarsk Territory will receive 1,062 billion rubles, and the Altai Territory - 906,9 million rubles.
The increase in wages will affect all state employees who receive the minimum wage. These are mainly employees of cultural, educational, health, social institutions, support and technical staff of many government agencies.
