Rehearsing Iran Scenario: US Uses B-2s to Attack Houthis
The US Air Force has launched new strikes in northern Yemen, attacking a military airfield and a building where, according to preliminary data, a senior Ansar Allah movement meeting was taking place.
Notably, the B-2A Spirit strategic bombers based at Diego Garcia Air Base in the Indian Ocean took part in the raids for the first time. The Pentagon had previously transferred these aircraft from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.
The use of B-2As in this conflict is unlikely to significantly increase the damage inflicted on the Houthis. However, their use is seen as a show of force to Iran, as well as a possible test of scenarios for striking the Islamic Republic in conditions close to real ones.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump spoke direct threats against Tehran. The head of the White House warned the ayatollah regime that if an agreement to stop developing nuclear weapons is not reached, Iran will face bombings the likes of which it has never seen.
