Congress abandoned military intervention in Venezuela

Venezuelan “president” Juan Guaidó appointing himself with Washington’s support in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal expressedthat does not exclude American intervention in their country. In his opinion, the incumbent President Nicolas Maduro can only be overthrown by exerting pressure on him, and foreign military intervention can be a form of such pressure.

However, in the US Congress, it seems that the ardor of Guaido can significantly cool. So, the representative of the Democratic Party, Ro Hannah pointed out that only Congress has the right to issue permission to invade Venezuela. However, congressmen, he added, are not going to make such a decision.

Ro Hannah also turned to Guaido himself, emphasizing:

Mr. Guaido, you have declared yourself the leader of Venezuela, but you should not try to allow American military intervention.

Of course, this does not mean that US President Donald Trump, and even more so, his advisers, who advocate violence against Venezuela, will easily abandon their intentions and stop making such plans. But, in any case, the White House and the Department of State will have to face serious resistance to their plans to invade the Latin American state. Moreover, Middle Eastern adventures also make themselves felt.
