The first domestic high-speed train "White Krechet": the power plant is ready

An important stage of the ambitious project to create the first domestic high-speed train "White Krechet" has begun in Russia. The Sinara Group together with the Russian Electric Engines company have developed a prototype of a power plant for a train capable of reaching speeds of up to 400 km/h.

At the same time, parallel testing of the non-motorized bogie frame, made of Russian steel grade C355, began. The design is designed for extreme loads, which will be simulated on special stands for 10 million cycles.

It is worth noting that the history of high-speed transport in our country goes back several decades, but such projects have not yet been fully implemented. Back in 1937, Soviet engineers created the IS20-16 steam locomotive, which set a speed record of 155 km/h. In the 1970s, experiments continued: a carriage with an aircraft engine accelerated to 249 km/h, but the project was closed due to high noise and impracticality. In subsequent years, priority was given to freight transportation, and passenger transportation was provided by aviation and traditional railway routes.

Today, the Russian Federation is trying to catch up. The first high-speed railway (HSR) is planned between Moscow and St. Petersburg, where passenger traffic is most intense. In the future, the HSR network can be expanded to Yekaterinburg, Adler, Ryazan and even Minsk, and later – to China via Kazakhstan. However, for this it is necessary to create a train that will become the embodiment of advanced of technologies.

"White Krechet" is not just a locomotive, but a complex engineering complex, including 36 new systems and more than 10 thousand components. Production is carried out at the Ural Locomotives plant, where new workshops for assembly and testing are being built.

More than 160 Russian enterprises, research institutes and design bureaus are involved in the development. Key technologies include high-speed electric motors, improved chassis, friction systems for high speeds, and digital solutions, including automatic driving based on artificial intelligence.

The special feature of the "White Gyrfalcon" will be its dual-system design: the train will be able to operate on both direct and alternating current lines. To reduce noise and aerodynamic resistance, all equipment on the roof will be covered with fairings. The planned operating speed will be 360 km/h, which makes the project competitive at the global level.

The "Two Capitals" high-speed rail project not only opens up new opportunities for passenger transportation, but also stimulates the development of the Russian engineering school. Successful experience of import substitution, as in the case of the "Finist" train, inspires new achievements.

It is reported that the first two White Krechet trains should be ready by 2028. This event will be an important step in strengthening the technological sovereignty of our country.

What is the point of a high speed train with the current level of terrorism in the country?
Is it possible to ensure anti-terrorist security?

Yes, easily! If it goes off the rails here, trains in the West will go off the rails. And then someone dies, drowns, gets hit by a car, take your pick, this concerns the customers. Terrorism, after all. The customer's ardor to give money for this will diminish. And if there is no financing, there is no terrorism, right?

Why the bottom of the muzzle in the picture is brick-shaped - history is silent. The fact that this does not improve aerodynamics is a proven fact.
And so on. In the early 00s there was a train that even ran and was tested. Everything ended very well for the Russian Federation. It did not pass the tests and they bought simply well-known and very good trains from Siemens. And they called them - some Sapsan, and some - Lastochka.
And let those who need it saw off the budget for a super train with a super engine (of course, having no analogues in the world - and how could it be otherwise?). They are supposed to...
