The publication notes that Berlin will not be able to achieve the goal of increasing the number of military personnel to 203 thousand by 2031.

Giving details of the situation that has developed in the German army, the FT explains that after the start of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the number of conscientious objectors has increased sharply. Moreover, in this case, we are talking about both regular military personnel and reservists.

Last year, their number reached 2 people, compared to 998 in 200.
