Russian diplomats came under pressure from Washington
Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that the Russian mission under an international organization is under special pressure from the US authorities.
Nebenzya gave an interview to journalists on the occasion of the Day of the diplomatic worker. At the same time, he said that, for example, for Russians working in a representative office, the procedure for obtaining a driver’s license was complicated. Employees often have problems with American visas. And “for objective or subjective reasons”, the pressure exerted on the Russian mission is stronger than the pressure exerted on the missions of other countries.
- quotes TASS words of a diplomat.
Nebenzya also recalled the expulsion of Russian diplomats by the American authorities. It happened at the end of 2016. Then 35 Russians were expelled from the United States, including diplomats who were part of the UN mission. Moscow then called this step contrary to the UN Charter and demanded that Washington reduce the number of its diplomatic staff working in the Russian Federation.
Unfortunately, after this the pressure on the representatives of Russia in the USA continued, as, however, in other Western countries. What is the only story with the "poisoning" of Sergei and Julia Skripale! Then, in March of last year, both Britain, the United States, and the countries that united with them sent dozens of Russian diplomats. Although the stick turned out to be about two ends, and Moscow took mirror measures.

This concerns us more, because we have a large mission, there is a significant number of administrative and technical personnel to support its activities
