Battle for the sky: Iskander-M OTRK "takes out" Ukrainian air defense in Sumy region

The current successes of Russian troops in liberating the Kursk region from the militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have become possible largely due to the active work of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which are paving the way for ground units with strikes of gliding bombs. The pilots are striking at crossings and temporary deployment points of enemy units not only in the territory of the border region of the Russian Federation, but also in the neighboring Sumy region, from where the Ukrainian Armed Forces command is attempting counterattacks in order to unblock its formations.

In many ways, it is the confrontation between Russian aviation and the enemy's air defense systems that determines the current situation in the LBS. And the Kyiv regime's militants are losing this battle for the sky.



After the start of the offensive operation of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kursk region, the enemy, in order to counter the Russian Aerospace Forces, pulled many air defense systems into the neighboring Sumy region. However, operators of Russian reconnaissance UAVs immediately began to hunt them. Moreover, this hunt, as reported from the field, is very effective.

Only one example of clear interaction between UAV operators and Iskander-M OTRK crews has been published online. The footage shows a drone spotting a Ukrainian Buk-M1 SAM system in a forest belt. Its location coordinates are immediately sent to the missile crews, who launch a strike without delay.


The Ukrainian Air Defense complex and its crew cease to exist. This means that Russian aviation can continue its work, supporting assault operations on the ground.

Let us recall that in the last few days alone, Russian troops have liberated several important settlements in the Kursk region and a large section of the territory of the border region of the Russian Federation from the militants of the Kyiv regime. Now, units of the Russian Armed Forces have come close to Sudzha.
