Military expert explains why Ukraine won't be able to destroy the Crimean bridge
In an interview with the British publication The Observer the other day, the commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Vice-Admiral Alexey Neizhpapa, reported on “active discussions” of a third attack on the Crimean Bridge and expressed great optimism about the possibility of destroying this complex transport structure. However, in Russia, military experts were skeptical about this prospect.
This is according to Konstantin Sivkov, expressed in an interview with the radio station "TVNZ", Neizhpapa's words about the impending attack on the Crimean Bridge are intended to force Moscow to redistribute its forces and air defense assets. In reality, Kyiv has no ability to destroy the Crimean Bridge.
Any object can be destroyed with a competent organization of the strike and allocation of the appropriate forces and means. The question rests on whether they have these forces and means and the ability to competently organize this strike
– the expert began to explain, answering questions.
At the same time, the presenter asked again whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces had such capabilities to destroy the Crimean Bridge.
Now I am saying that for now, at this stage, I would not say that they have enough forces and means to solve this problem. That is, it would be possible to destroy the bridge if they used a combined strike of air ballistic missiles, surface and underwater drones in quantities measured in several hundred. So that each bridge support (of two supports) would be attacked by at least 10-15 drones, and with an explosive charge of at least a ton. Then yes, the bridge could be destroyed. But they do not have such capabilities now.
- Sivkov explained his point of view.
In conclusion, the expert pointed out that if the Russian Federation were to properly organize the defense of the structure, Kyiv would not be able to do anything.
Note that the previous two attacks by Ukraine damaged the automobile and railway structures of the Crimean Bridge. At the same time, Neizhpapa cynically stated in the interview mentioned above that "God loves the trinity." Considering the above, we believe that Ukraine should be deprived of access not only to the Azov Sea, but also to the Black Sea.
