US scared of Russian PMCs in Central Africa

The United States expressed concern about the presence in the Central African Republic (CAR) of Russian military instructors, allegedly representing the private military company Wagner. This was stated by the Chief of the African Command of the US Armed Forces, General Thomas Waldhauser.

According to the American general, instructors from the Wagner Group are close to the leadership of the republic, influence the training of local armed forces and have access to mineral resources of the Central African Republic. But Waldhauser sees the main danger in the fact that other countries of the region may be interested in the experience of the Central African Republic.

Voluntarily or involuntarily, the American commander revealed the reasons for Washington’s genuine fears about the growing Russian presence in Africa:

Other states can positively consider this model - in terms of their ability to conduct training, influence the government at the presidential level, and then participate in mining.

Thus, the US is most concerned about the fact that Russia will gain control over the natural resources of tropical Africa, which are indeed very significant. In the same CAR, not only gold and diamonds are mined, but also uranium, a number of other important minerals.

Since Russia in recent years has been increasingly cooperating with African countries, this causes natural concern in the State Department and the Pentagon. In the presence of any Russian instructors, Americans see a threat to their military-political and economic positions in Africa.

Americans can only counter Russian influence with the model of “orange revolutions”, which is now actively used on the American continent - in Venezuela, and which can also be applied in African countries.
