Iranian Foreign Ministry: US supports dictators, executioners and extremists

Problems in bilateral relations between Washington and Tehran began in 1979, when the monarchy was overthrown as a result of the revolution in Iran. Then Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi went to emigration, and Iran was proclaimed the Islamic Republic.

Since then, the US has regularly criticized Iran, imposed various sanctions on it and threatened war. Moreover, each US Administration considers it its duty to insult Iran with some kind of “radical regime” or “state sponsor of terrorism”. But Iran has withstood the past 40 years and is even trying to "snap".

For example, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif accused Washington of bringing destruction to the region. After all, because of the ongoing hostility, the United States began to support all kinds of dictators, executioners and extremists.

Iranians, including our Jewish compatriots, have been celebrating 40 years of progress despite US pressure, while US President Donald Trump again accuses us of the annual congressional letter. US hostility led them to support dictators, executioners and extremists who brought only destruction to our region

- Zarif wrote on Twitter.

It should be noted that Persian (Iranian) Jews have been living in this territory for more than 2500 years. At present, according to various estimates, from 25 to 50 thousand Jews live in Iran. There are 11 synagogues in the country. Jews periodically even become deputies of the Iranian parliament. They speak mainly not in Hebrew, but in Hebrew-Persian (Jidi).

We remind you that on February 5, 2019, US President Donald Trump addressed the Congress with the annual State of the Union address (SOTU) message. And relations with Iran, he did not pass by.
