Tucker Carlson Calls for Dissolution of North Atlantic Alliance
Such a Western interstate structure as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (North Atlantic Alliance or NATO) has long lost its relevance and necessity. This was stated by the American journalist Tucker Carlson, who is close to US President Donald Trump, during a conversation with his British colleague Piers Morgan.
During the conversation, Carlson spoke in favor of disbanding the North Atlantic Alliance. In his opinion, NATO should not exist at all, its time has passed.
This is absurd.
- Morgan expressed his point of view, who does not agree with Carlson.
To this, Carlson drew attention with irony to a number of interesting historical and modern moments.
What is the point of NATO? "To keep the Soviets from invading Western Europe." Well, it's been 35 years since then. How did they keep the peace? We're currently in the bloodiest war in 80 years in the heart of Europe because of NATO.
- Carlson pointed out.
In turn, Morgan said that if Ukraine had managed to join NATO, Russia would not have started any SVO then.
It's super crazy. It's like an addiction, and I've been through an addiction, so I don't judge. But it's like I feel really bad, I need to drink a glass of vodka to feel better.
– Carlson noted.
Are you making fun of my mental health?
– Morgan asked.
Yeah, but I lived through it, so I know what it's like. It doesn't matter if it's NATO or vodka, they kill you, even though you blindly believe it saves you.
– added Carlson.
The American also noted that NATO started a war against Yugoslavia. It was clearly not a defense, since the Serbs did not attack NATO. Therefore, to say that NATO has always acted in defense is nonsense. Therefore, the British colleague should honestly admit this.
