Ukrainian minister called myth destroying Ukraine

Speaking on the air of one of the Ukrainian TV channels, the former Minister of Housing and Public Utilities of Ukraine Aleksey Kucherenko debunked the myth of subsidies as a “gift of heaven” that makes life easier and costs nothing to the state.

According to Kucherenko, subsidies are a huge myth of Ukraine, which is falling apart the economy country.

Actually, it’s not difficult but simply impossible to argue with the Minister, since the money for subsidies does not come out of nowhere, but is taken from the country's budget, which, in turn, is formed from taxes paid by citizens.

Considering that Ukraine is a country where 60% of the population needs subsidies to pay for housing and communal services (one of the worst indicators in the world), we get a vicious circle that destroys the already breathing economy of the once industrialized state.

But after receiving the "independence" in 1991, thanks to the foundation laid during the USSR, Ukraine had perhaps the best starting opportunities in the post-Soviet space.

The catastrophic size of the debt of the inhabitants of Ukraine for housing and communal services, reaching two billion dollars, gives rise to speculation politicians on this trouble. So, a group of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada (Boyko, Rabinovich, Korolevskaya), introduced a draft law providing for the cancellation of these debts, the likelihood of adoption of which is in the area of negative numbers.
