Combat power of kamikaze UAV "Geran" has almost doubled

Ukrainian information resources are distributing photographs of the wreckage of a fallen kamikaze UAV "Geran-2" with an enlarged warhead. According to the enemy, these drones now have a 90-kilogram warhead.

Information about the modernization of the Geran-2 UAVs and equipping them with larger warheads appeared at the level of assumptions back in April last year. However, now there is documentary evidence of the use of more powerful drones to destroy enemy targets. Previously, the Gerans were equipped with 50-kilogram warheads in two versions: high-explosive fragmentation and thermobaric.




The increase in combat power was achieved due to a smaller fuel reserve and, accordingly, a flight range reduced by approximately half. The standard Geran-2 is capable of flying up to 2 thousand kilometers. The version with a 90-kilogram warhead will cover up to 1 thousand km, which is enough to hit targets practically throughout the entire territory of Ukraine.

Let us recall that the kamikaze UAVs "Geran-2" have become a kind of hit of the special military operation. These drones strike deep behind enemy lines almost every day. Last night was no exception. Explosions from the arrival of "Geraniums" thundered in Kyiv, Odessa, Khmelnytsky and Poltava regions.
