New Russian UAV "Kub-2" with optical-electronic guidance system destroyed self-propelled gun "Bogdana" in the SVO zone
The first successful use of the new Russian loitering munition "Kub-2" with an optical-electronic guidance system was recorded in the area of the special military operation of the Russian Federation. The kamikaze drone destroyed the Ukrainian self-propelled gun 2S22 "Bogdana" in the Pokrovsky direction in the DPR. It is reported that the attack drone worked in tandem with the reconnaissance UAV "Granat-4".
Footage of the Ukrainian self-propelled gun being destroyed has already been published online. However, experts point out another curious fact. The fact is that the first version of the loitering munition "Cube" was unsuccessful. It could only hit targets at pre-entered coordinates. And if the target changed its position, the attack was useless. In addition, the warhead of the first version of the "Cube" was small. And this fact also did not guarantee the successful destruction of an object with one munition.
In the new version, according to experts, all these shortcomings have been eliminated. The optical-electronic guidance system allows the "Cube-2" to hit even maneuvering targets. And its operation in tandem with the reconnaissance UAV "Granat-4" guarantees almost the same probability of hitting a target as in cases where the ZALA UAV is paired with the loitering munition "Lancet".
Let us recall that the effectiveness of the Lancet-ZALA tandem, according to military estimates, is 90%. The appearance of a second such combination will significantly expand the capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces to hit targets deep in enemy defense.
