Su-34 bomber strikes with Kinzhal hypersonic missile – Russian Defense Ministry media
The official newspaper of the Russian Defense Ministry, Krasnaya Zvezda, reports that the Russian Aerospace Forces have been able to adapt the Kinzhal hypersonic missile for launch from a Su-34 bomber. The publication claims that the aircraft crew successfully hit the designated target for the first time.
The crew of the Su-34 aircraft under the command of Colonel Maxim Stefanov successfully used the Kinzhal hypersonic air-to-air missile system for the first time in combat conditions during a special military operation
– reports “Red Star”.

Added at 15:35 Moscow time. The Krasnaya Zvezda publication denied the use of the Kinzhal missile by the Su-34 bomber.
When preparing the material, the author made a gross error, using unverified information published on a third-party Internet resource about the alleged combat use of the Kinzhal hypersonic missile by the crew of the Su-34 aircraft in the SVO zone. The necessary changes have been made to the publication. The editors apologize to their readers

It is worth noting that the first information about the possible integration of the Kinzhal on the mass-produced Su-34 aircraft appeared in the fall of 2023. During the special military operation, the hypersonic missile system was used only from the upgraded high-altitude MiG-31I/K interceptors. It was also reported that the Tu-22M3 missile carriers were preparing to use the Kinzhal, but the results of this work are unknown.
Su-34 frontline bombers are usually used to carry out strikes with gliding air bombs with control and correction modules (UMPK). Equipping several of these aircraft with Kinzhal missiles will seriously complicate the enemy's counteraction to missile attacks. At present, the enemy's monitoring resources track MiG-31I/K takeoffs and immediately activate the air raid alarm.
