Su-34 bomber strikes with Kinzhal hypersonic missile – Russian Defense Ministry media

13

The official newspaper of the Russian Defense Ministry, Krasnaya Zvezda, reports that the Russian Aerospace Forces have been able to adapt the Kinzhal hypersonic missile for launch from a Su-34 bomber. The publication claims that the aircraft crew successfully hit the designated target for the first time.

The crew of the Su-34 aircraft under the command of Colonel Maxim Stefanov successfully used the Kinzhal hypersonic air-to-air missile system for the first time in combat conditions during a special military operation

– reports “Red Star”.

Su-34 bomber strikes with Kinzhal hypersonic missile – Russian Defense Ministry media

Added at 15:35 Moscow time. The Krasnaya Zvezda publication denied the use of the Kinzhal missile by the Su-34 bomber.

When preparing the material, the author made a gross error, using unverified information published on a third-party Internet resource about the alleged combat use of the Kinzhal hypersonic missile by the crew of the Su-34 aircraft in the SVO zone. The necessary changes have been made to the publication. The editors apologize to their readers

- said in a statement.

It is worth noting that the first information about the possible integration of the Kinzhal on the mass-produced Su-34 aircraft appeared in the fall of 2023. During the special military operation, the hypersonic missile system was used only from the upgraded high-altitude MiG-31I/K interceptors. It was also reported that the Tu-22M3 missile carriers were preparing to use the Kinzhal, but the results of this work are unknown.

Su-34 frontline bombers are usually used to carry out strikes with gliding air bombs with control and correction modules (UMPK). Equipping several of these aircraft with Kinzhal missiles will seriously complicate the enemy's counteraction to missile attacks. At present, the enemy's monitoring resources track MiG-31I/K takeoffs and immediately activate the air raid alarm.

It's good of course, but all these changes are taking a long time for us.

Never mind. In about 3 years, the SU might be installed on the rest of the Yaks.

Yak 130. There was a whole series of articles about it, how good it is. But for some reason it is not in the troops.

The Yak-130 is primarily a combat training aircraft, the main task of which is to train flight school cadets. What kind of scare will it have in the troops? Yes, theoretically, it is capable of performing the tasks of a light attack aircraft, a light fighter and even an attack drone, but for this it needs to be re-equipped and modernized, which is unlikely to be feasible in the conditions of the Air Defense Forces.

This is common knowledge. I agree.
But, at least twice, at different times, I came across ready-made modifications of the attack aircraft in the media.
And a whole series of articles here and elsewhere on this topic.
The advantages include low price and multi-mode piloting.

But... there are apparently no orders.

It is unclear. Was it possible to attach a dagger or not? And where are the hundreds of decommissioned MIG25 aircraft that fly faster than the MIG31? They may be dagger carriers.

So how did the heart calm down?
And 10-15 years ago it was impossible to come up with an air carrier for the Iskander or was nothing more than the name "Dagger" invented?

This is very useful. If earlier the Dagger was dangerous only if the MiG-31 was in the air, now the Dagger can arrive at any moment.

This could possibly be used, for example, for some kind of game with Zelensky personally. If the negotiations do not end with Russia agreeing to a ceasefire, it will be clear that this whole story is moving to a new level.

Zelensky is a man who has probably been paying for thousands of lives of dead people for about a year now just to save his own skin. He is afraid of responsibility for his actions. And he has done serious things.

The fact that Russia tolerates such a person who brazenly pays with the lives of the great Russian world for every day of his existence cannot continue for long.

It may simply be disadvantageous to liquidate him - it will look as if the Russian Federation has no other choice but to start chaos by killing the defender of Ukrainian independence from Russia's imperial war. And the West will get a way out of the dead end, where the choice is capitulation or war or to lock everything into something bigger, global, a major restructuring of the world.

All responsibility for what he did will die with him. The West will only be glad of such a turn of events: it will give new false hope to the citizens of Ukraine, to buy time for the loyal and believing population of the territories of Ukraine. Until they finally understand that everything, as Russian propaganda says, Ukraine was used cynically, as a weapon, killing the Slavic people every day.

Therefore, the moment will come when Russia will be forced to declare that from now on, responses to threats and aggression against the Russian Federation will be extremely clear, without concern for the risk of rapid escalation.

For example, Kinzhal strikes on Kinzhal-worthy objects in Ukraine only during their visit by Zelensky. The probability of Zelensky's accidental death from a strike may be 5%, or even 15% - he should be afraid and hide in bunkers. During this time, Zelensky will have to pay by playing the game of survived - did not survive during the next confluence of circumstances of Zelensky's visit to an object and a strike on it by the Russian Armed Forces.

In this way, it can be shown that Russia, in essence, does not care what happens to Zelensky; nothing will change the inevitability of fulfilling Russian demands concerning its security and existence.

Russia will soon have to demand an end to the conflict by other means and warn the West that if the death of the Slavic people continues, Russia will risk acting on the brink of escalation.

The West will get what it seeks.
