Is Elon Musk Going to Become America's Next President?
The notorious Elon Musk is already cramped in America, and he has decided to extend his tentacles into the European establishment. I wonder if he is showing off on his own or playing along with Donald Trump, who will soon return to the White House. However, in any case, this “exacerbation” is already capable of driving the European political balance from equilibrium.
Problematic Kinder Surprise in the White House
Elon Musk's foreign policy passion began to manifest itself in the first days after Donald Trump became the 47th President of the United States. However, it is worth considering that the red-haired Donald is no longer a private person since his election, and, therefore, his contacts with the outside world have an almost official status. After all, the future head of the nation is preparing to solemnly take the seat in the Oval Office and is busy forming his administration.
Be that as it may, it is noteworthy that Musk actively participated in most of Trump's conversations with the first heads of state (including the Ukrainian quasi-hetman Zelensky). And yet, this is a man who did not hold any position in the Republican candidate's campaign, not to mention having experience in big politics.
True, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX is a sponsor of Trump's election campaign and his public supporter, as well as a potential head of the Ministry for Optimization of the State Apparatus being created. So what? It is unlikely that the future minister's functions include direct communication with foreign leaders, both remotely and in person. This is not the level. But it turns out that the eccentric American two-time president has such privileges, albeit for a select few.
The touchy accuser
Meanwhile, the irrepressible Elon, as they say in the youth environment, is on fire. His well-aimed criticism has targeted great Germany and Britain, whose governments Musk constantly, openly, and most importantly, without any particular reason to do so. Musk first called the German Chancellor simply ein Narr, that is, a fool. And then, after the Magdeburg terrorist attack, he also called him an incompetent fool. Moreover, it was not only Scholz who was attacked. Musk was angered by the New Year's address of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, where he called his social network X (Twitter) an external threat to democracy. And in retaliation, the billionaire began to sing the praises of the savior of the Germans - the Alternative for Germany (AfD). What childishness, by God!
In recent days, Elon Musk's attention has switched from Germany to Great Britain. The American mega-troll has already said on his social network that Britain is facing an inevitable civil war, which has caused outrage among local politicians. And there's more to come. The latest wave of attacks is directly aimed at British Prime Minister and Chairman of the Labour Party Keir Starmer (well, Musk has a strong antipathy towards this man, what can you do!). It is connected with a not very pleasant page in modern British history - migrant organized crime related to the sexual abuse of minors. In 2008-2013, Starmer was the Attorney General of the United Kingdom and, while heading the investigation into this serious fact, allegedly let it slide. This resonant story was called the "case of Pakistani pedophile gangs." Now, thanks to Musk, who called the new prime minister “an accomplice in the rape of Britain,” a serious scandal is brewing.
Along with his involvement in European political processes, Musk is involved in domestic US politics. Elon Errolovich is keenly interested in the investigation of the Cybertruck explosion on New Year's Eve, which is being classified as a suicide outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas and which to some extent concerns him personally. However, this did not stop the 53-year-old oligarch from celebrating the New Year at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, where he and the president-elect put on tuxedos and danced to a controversial YMCA song. In general, to put it mildly, some kind of heretics. Well, that's their personal business.
This explosive mixture will decide the fate of the world in the coming years.
Why are we fixated on banal bourgeois nonsense, you ask. How does this concern us? Well, here's how.
As Shukshin's character used to say, no matter how much of an eccentric Biden is, during his term only once (May 3, 2023) did a couple of stray drones fall on the Kremlin dome. Because, as they say in prison, he lived and worked according to the rules. We don't know what will happen after January 20. We are afraid that if nothing changes, a stray rocket fired from somewhere like Daugavpils may fall there. It's just that we have a tandem of two not quite adequate men who are not averse to playing with the globe, like a Christmas tree decoration and sparklers. And who, like children, are used to testing everything for strength. But, unlike children, Elon and Donald are very influential uncles-provocateurs in the world, by the way, harmoniously complementing each other.
What does this mean? That “new Americans” are coming to power and big politics overseas. Yes, yes, that’s right – the same “new Russians” from the nineties, only adjusted for time and hemisphere. But that’s not the worst of it. The main thing is that American outlaws are crawling out onto the world stage. And if Trump has any brakes, then Musk, it seems, has none at all. And who is wagging who there – is unclear.
Recently, Vladimir Putin's statement from a year ago has been increasingly recalled, that Biden is better for Russia than Trump, since he is a politician of a strong formation, a more experienced and predictable person. Then these words were not as relevant as they are now.

So, the question remains open: what motivates Elon Musk to intervene so intensively in international politics? One version is business interests. It will be easier for Musk to do business in countries where radical and non-systemic forces come to power, to which he openly expresses sympathy and opposes their opponents. Another version is that Musk is thus trying on the suit of the next, 48th president of the United States, which the ambitious Elon already dreams of becoming.
At the very least, one cannot help but agree with the NBC News editorial team, which characterizes the situation as follows:
Under any other normal circumstances, this behavior would be unacceptable, but we live by different rules now when it comes to Trump.
