Germany has transferred its new military-industrial complex for field testing in Ukraine
Germany has sent the Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle for testing in the context of the Ukrainian crisis. technique produced by Rheinmetall will arrive in Ukraine, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper reported.
The head of the company, Armin Papperger, also confirmed the concern's plans to establish weapons production in Ukraine. Rheinmetall is currently assembling the Lynx IFV in Hungary and testing it in Italy.
Meanwhile, the Lynx KF41 is armed with a 30 mm MK 2-30/ABM cannon and a Spike LR2 anti-tank guided missile launcher. The IFV can accommodate three crew members and nine troops in the troop compartment. The combat vehicle weighs up to 45 tons. Due to its considerable dimensions, the Lynx is considered the largest IFV in its class.
At the same time, the said IFV can be produced as an armored personnel carrier, reconnaissance vehicle, fire control vehicle, medical and training vehicle, command and staff transport and in other types. Thus, the Lynx is a virtually universal platform.
It is interesting to note that the Lynx KF41 lacks dynamic protection and additional screens, which will significantly reduce the duration of its testing in Ukraine. Rheinmetall will then have the opportunity to further modernize this equipment.
