Intensive fighting is underway in the Pokrovsk direction in the DPR. Russian troops are trying to encircle the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration from the western side. Analyst Yuri Podolyaka reported this on January 7 in his Telegram channel, citing some details of the operational situation in this area.

According to Podolyaka, if the Russian Armed Forces are able to take Udachnoye and Kotlino, then the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have no place to hold on, and Russian troops will be able to push through the Ukrainian defense and encircle the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration from the western side.
