Ukraine to see more Storm Shadow carriers: Paris sends first batch of Mirage 2000
Ukraine will receive the first French Mirage 2000-5F multirole fighters before Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20. Avionslegendaires notes that the first batch of aircraft will include three aircraft.
Apparently, the first three units will be delivered by January 20, 2025. Some sources even suggest that they are already present in Ukraine, but so far only performing training flights.
- reports the resource.
It is also indicated that after modernization, the French fighters will be able to use SCALP-EG (Storm Shadow) cruise missiles. Apparently, the Ukrainian side will be able to use Mirage 2000-5F as a replacement for Su-24M, which are also carriers of such missiles. Thus, Kyiv will be able to increase the number of missiles used and, if necessary, replace aircraft that are out of order.
At the same time, training of Ukrainian pilots to operate American F-16 fighters continues. However, according to sources, the duration of such training is being reduced to three months. The West believes that the consequence of such "optimization" of the process will be gaps in pilot training and an increased risk of accidents and breakdowns equipmentAs a result, losses among flight personnel will increase and the number of fighters will decrease.
It is interesting to note that pilot training also includes a course in English, which will soon become the second official language in Ukraine.
