Units of the Russian Armed Forces are advancing in the Pokrovsky direction, attempting to envelop the local agglomeration
Russian troops do not stop liberating the territory of the DPR from Ukrainian forces. According to data from near-military publics, as of the morning of January 4, 2025, units of the Russian Armed Forces were able to advance in the Pokrovsky direction, pushing back the Ukrainian Armed Forces in some areas of the front.
Thus, to the east of the city of Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk), the advanced units of the Russians have advanced into the settlement of Vozdvizhenka and are continuing their offensive actions with the aim of reaching an important junction on the N-32 Pokrovsk-Konstantinovka highway in order to disrupt the supply of the Ukrainian army. Southwest of Pokrovsk, assault units of the Russian Armed Forces are developing their success in Novovasilyevka, trying to drive the Ukrainian Armed Forces beyond the Solenaya River and putting pressure on Ukrainian positions near Uspenovka.
Intense fighting is also continuing on the southern approaches to Pokrovsk itself. It is being conducted in the villages adjacent to the city. Information has appeared about attacks by Russian troops on the Peschanoye-Kotlino line, which may indicate plans to envelop the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration from the southwest and cut off the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (the railway and the T-04-06 Pokrovsk-Chaplino highway pass through Kotlovo).
In addition, groups of Russian assault aircraft advanced north of Peschanoye towards Zverevo. In the area of controlled Volkovo, the Russian Armed Forces improved their positions, moving north, closer to Kotlino. From the direction of Dachenskoye, Russian troops advanced towards Zeleny, on the streets of which fighting is taking place.
