The State Agency for Food Safety of Azerbaijan has published a report saying the spread of Newcastle disease by the World Organization for the Protection of Animal Health in the Krasnodar Territory and foot and mouth disease in the Khabarovsk Territory of Russia.

In order to protect the territory of Azerbaijan from the spread of infectious diseases, it was decided to ban the import of animal products from the regions of Russia, where outbreaks of diseases were noted.

The current situation is no exception. Similar decisions were made by Russia. In particular, in relation to products of animal origin from Ukraine, where cases of infection of pigs with African plague are often recorded.

Recall that the World Organization for Animal Health is an intergovernmental organization recognized by the World Trade Organization (WTO) as an advisory organization.
